RAUL MONCADA MARINO
Raul Moncada was born in Camaguey in Southern Cuba in 1955. He studied at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas Jose Joaquin Tejada in Santiago de Cuba, and later at the Instituto Pedagogico Enrique Jose Varona in Havana. He has had numerous personal exhibitions in his native Cuba, and has there also participated in several collective exhibitions. In 1996 he won first prize for painting at the Taller de Creacion. In 1995, he won first prize for engraving at the Encuentro de Artistas, held at the Casa Cultural Marianao in Havana.
