All of the paintings displayed on our site are original works of art. We do not sell prints (with the exception of the works by Elizabeth White, whose prints are handcrafted).
Do you provide proof of authenticity?
We will be happy to include a Letter of Authenticity with your shipment.
Do you have other paintings than those displayed on the website?
Yes, sometimes we do. Whilst we try to display as many paintings as possible on our site, we do sometimes have paintings which are not shown on the site. If you are interested in finding out whether or not we have additional paintings by a particular artist, please send us a quick inquiry by email.
Are all the paintings displayed on your site available for sale?
Yes. We try our very best to keep the website as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a painting is sold, it is marked as "SOLD" on the site. We do, however, offer our customers the option of placing paintings "on hold". These paintings are not marked as "SOLD" on the site, so it may happen that a painting you are interested in is being "held" for another customer.
Do you have any biographical information on a particular artist?
We have posted artists' biographies, where available, to the site. You can find this biographical information either in the Haitian Biographies or Cuban Biographies section of the site, or in the individual artist's room. There are some artists for whom we do not have any biographical information - but we are working on obtaining biographies for all of our artists.
Are your paintings stretched and/or framed?
Unless specifically stated otherwise, all of our paintings are sold unstretched and unframed. We have found that shipping paintings unstretched is much safer (it virtually eliminates the risk of damage during transport), and that framing is very much a matter of personal preference - best done by the customer him/herself.
How do I order a painting?
Please refer to the How to make a purchase section of the website.
What method of payment do you accept?
Please refer to the Shipping and Payment section of the website.
Do you give discounts?
No, we do not. Our paintings are very reasonably priced to begin with.
How do you package the paintings for shipping?
Canvas paintings are rolled - they are first rolled around an inner tube, then packaged, then put inside a protective outer tube. Board or Canvas Board paintings are packaged and bubble-wrapped, and then shipped inside a carton.
How do you ship?
Please refer to the Shipping and Payment section of the website.
What are the shipping costs?
Please refer to the Shipping and Payment section of the website. The prices quoted there are estimates - actual costs may vary.
Are there any duties or taxes payable?
The import of original works of art to the United States is free of import duty and taxes. In other countries, taxes (VAT, etc.) and customs duties may be applicable - please make sure to check before you order to avoid an unpleasant surprise.
Do you do lay-aways?
Yes, we do. If you are interested in taking advantage of this, please contact us by email.
What is your refund policy?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will refund you the
full cost of your purchase (exclusive of shipping charges) as soon as we
receive the returned artwork. Please contact us for a return authorization
and shipping instructions. Returns must be made within 30 days of
purchase. We will not accept returns without prior authorization.
