Jerome Polycarpe was born on the 6th of November 1950 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Before he took up painting, he was a professor of Mathematics from 1971 to 1973. His first two paintings were selected by Jean Marie Drot and Andre Malraux for two exhibitions in Paris and Auxerre. Jerome is famous today for his jungle scenes in vibrant colours. His paintings were auctioned at Parke Bernet in New York in 1975. They are sold in galleries in Paris, Germany, America, Italy, Jamaica and the Antilles. He appears in Max Fourny's two books, "La Fete et les Naifs" and "Le Reve et les Naifs".
